Essay Writing – Tips for Beginners

November 2, 2011 · No Comments · online eduction

We all are aware of essay writing and its different types such as argumentative, descriptive, persuasive essays, etc. To many learners this writing is nothing but a piece of cake as they have a lot of experience in essay writing, but it is very difficult for those who have no experience to begin with. However, following are some beginners’ tips for this writing.

- Always keep in mind that you should avoid procrastination at all cost and start as early as possible. Many beginners who are assigned these assignments delay the project and end up with no essay at all. Writing as early as possible brings many advantages to students. First the writer gets sufficient time to do a wide research and second the writer gets enough time to do revision and proofreading after writing the final draft.

- Thoroughly read and re-read your guideline given to them by the teacher in order to understand the meaning of your topic. Then do a wide research so as to check what points you can look for and what points you can include. However, you must avoid conducting too extensive research is it may make you end up with too much information, which leads to processing too much data. First collect all the necessary information and then filter out all the data which is surplus.

- If you want to avoid getting your essay deemed as cheap essays then practice by writing rough drafts first. Write a catchy introduction that can wow your readers at the starting paragraph so as to arousing the urge of reading more. However, always remember that introductions are concise yet not short since there is a big different between concise and short. Compose a detailed body where you explain each point in a separate paragraph. And lastly you write a conclusion where you say parting words to the readers.

- Finally you revise your final draft and edit it to improve its effectiveness. Don’t forget to proofread your document again and again before submitting.
